An Investment That Does Well by Doing Good

Silara Capital offers a rare opportunity to invest in the untapped potential of Australia's $42 billion NDIS sector. Our disciplined strategy is designed to grow and improve mid-sized NDIS service providers, delivering strong returns for our partners and creating sustainable, high-quality care for communities.

Why Invest with Silara?

  • The NDIS service sector is large and growing, yet filled with thousands of small, independent operators. We focus on this overlooked mid-market, partnering with quality businesses at attractive prices before they appear on the radar of larger investment firms.

  • Our strategy is a systematic and proven engine. We partner with businesses, improve their operations using our central support platform, and then sell the strengthened group to waiting national buyers. We aim to complete this cycle in just 12-18 months.

  • Many NDIS founders are facing burnout from overwhelming administrative and compliance demands. We offer them a way to transition out of their business, knowing their life's work is protected and the quality of care for their participants is secure.

  • We charge no management fees. Our leadership team is paid only after our investors have received their initial investment and a preferred return. Our interests are 100% aligned with yours.

Find. Strengthen. Sell. Repeat.

Our model is engineered for clarity, speed, and creating value. We don't just buy businesses; we transform them into highly attractive,

professional operations that larger companies are eager to acquire.

Finding the Right Partners

We don’t wait for opportunities to come to us. Our in-house team builds relationships directly with NDIS owners, giving us access to great businesses not available on the open market. We partner with service-based businesses (not property) with annual profits between $300,000 and $700,000. We structure our deals so the original owner receives part of the payment down the track, which maximises the impact of our investors' capital.

Rapid Improvement from Day One

Within 90 days, each new partner business is connected to our central support system, Silara OpCo. This platform handles the heavy lifting:

  • HR & Finance: We streamline all payroll, billing, and financial reporting.

  • Compliance & Quality: We implement consistent, high-quality standards and run practice audits to ensure the business is ready for any NDIS Commission inspection.

  • Systems & Technology: We move all partners onto a single, modern software platform for easy, real-time management.

  • This process improves profitability and prepares the businesses for a smooth and successful sale.

A Planned and Timely Exit

We build what strategic buyers are looking for: professionally managed, compliant, and growing NDIS businesses. The demand from larger national health and disability companies for these types of businesses is strong. By preparing for the sale from day one, we are able to exit our investment within 12 to 18 months.

Our Goal for Silara Independence Fund I:

  • Fund Size: $5 Million

  • Investment Timeline: A 24-month fund from start to finish.

  • Target Returns: We aim to deliver our partners an annual return of 30-50% and return 4 to 5 times the original capital invested.

  • Profit Sharing: Profits are first used to repay all investor capital, plus an 8% annual preferred return. After that, we share in the success together.

An Ocean of Opportunity: Why the NDIS Market is Primed for Growth

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is more than just a government program; it’s a foundational pillar of Australian society. It represents a profound shift in how we support people with disability, creating a vast and growing market for quality service providers. For investors, this translates to a unique opportunity to generate strong returns while investing in essential community infrastructure.

A Market of Scale, Backed by Government

The NDIS is one of Australia’s most significant social and economic reforms. It’s a multi-billion dollar, federally funded scheme with strong bipartisan support, ensuring its long-term stability.

  • Growing Every Year: The scheme has grown to support over 700,000 Australians, with participant numbers and funding continuing to expand. This isn't a temporary trend; it reflects Australia's commitment to providing choice and control for people with a permanent and significant disability.

  • A Vast and Fragmented Landscape: The market is currently serviced by tens of thousands of registered providers. The vast majority of these are small, independent operators. This fragmentation means there is no dominant player, creating a clear opportunity for consolidation and professionalisation.

  • Recession-Resistant Demand: The need for disability support is not tied to economic cycles. The funding is individualised and government-backed, creating a stable and predictable revenue stream for well-run providers, and a defensive asset class for investors.

The "Why Now?" Factor: A System Under Pressure

While the NDIS is growing, the small and mid-sized businesses that form its backbone are facing unprecedented challenges. This pressure is the catalyst for the unique investment opportunity that Silara Capital is built to capture.

  • Rising Compliance and Regulation: The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is increasing its oversight to ensure participants are safe and receiving high-quality care. While essential, this creates a heavy administrative burden that many smaller operators struggle to manage.

  • Workforce Challenges: Finding, training, and retaining skilled support workers is a major challenge across the sector, putting a strain on smaller providers and limiting their ability to grow.

  • Founder Burnout and Succession Needs: Many NDIS businesses were started by passionate individuals from the care sector. After years of hard work, many are now looking for a way to exit, but they want to ensure their participants and staff are left in good hands. There is a shortage of trusted partners to help them do this.

These pressures create a wave of owners looking for a solution. They need a partner who can provide capital, systems, and operational support—the exact role Silara Capital is designed to fill.

Focus on the Highest-Need Areas: SIL and SDA

Within the broader NDIS market, Silara Capital focuses on two of the most critical and in-demand service areas:

  • Supported Independent Living (SIL): This involves providing daily living support to help people with higher needs live as independently as possible in their own homes or in a shared living arrangement. Demand for quality SIL services consistently outstrips supply, particularly as providers reach their capacity due to staffing and compliance pressures.

  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA): This refers to specially designed housing for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. While Silara doesn't invest in the physical property, we specialise in managing the vital, people-focused support services within these homes. The need for quality SDA housing and support continues to grow, creating a secure environment for service delivery.

By focusing on these essential, non-discretionary services, we target the most stable and impactful segments of the NDIS, ensuring both strong social outcomes and reliable investment returns.

In summary, the NDIS market presents a rare combination of factors: government-backed growth, systemic fragmentation, and a clear need for the operational expertise that Silara Capital provides. It's an opportunity to build a stronger, more efficient disability sector while delivering exceptional value to our investment partners.
